Sally Fine’s Patient Earth is in this juried show at the Cape Cod Museum of Art. Patient Earth is a repurposed buoyancy ball mounted on a surveyors stand, tethered to a medical IV stand. Electroluminescent lights trace the oceans currents in the interior of the glass ball. Patient Earth makes the statement that the earth should be considered as a patient in intensive care. The IV stand holds the transformers for the EL lights.
